Characteristics of Natural Wood
This product is handcrafted from solid natural wood. The color tone of solid wood ages over time. Natural variations in grain are also to be expected. This is not a defect in the wood and is, in fact, part of its natural beauty. Because of this, we cannot accept returns or cancellations due to variations in natural wood tones and grain. About Copeland
The company started in the 1970s from a one-man operation in an old garage in East Corinth, Vermont, to a world-class manufacturing facility in Bradford, Vermont. The Copeland design aesthetic is described as “transitional”: a combination of classic proportions and modern simplicity. Inspired by New England traditions of craftsmanship, Copeland Furniture creates furniture for those with an appreciation for good design, quality, and value.
Copeland’s natural hardwood furniture is manufactured in Bradford, Vermont. Combining traditional cabinet-making techniques with cutting-edge computer technology, the Copeland team hand-selects maple, cherry, or walnut lumber to build each piece. These natural hardwoods vary in color and may have swirls, knots, and burls that add a touch of warmth and individuality to your home decor. Every piece is topped with a clear, silky smooth finish that’s tough enough to withstand the wear and tear of daily family activities for generations to come.
Influenced by the natural beauty of Vermont, sustainability and preservation are at the heart of Copeland Furniture’s values. Because much of the lumber comes from within 500 miles of the factory from the American North Forest, it takes less energy to transport the raw materials. Copeland is also a recipient of the Sage Award for environmental excellence and the Silver Exemplary Membership Status by Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC). These two prestigious awards recognize the positive ecological and sustainable impacts within the furniture industry. From installing a 500kw solar array on factory grounds to heating the building entirely with manufactured wood waste, the environmental effects of Copeland Furniture are among the lowest in the industry. Copeland Furniture prides itself on crafting durable, sustainably-made furniture built to last.
