Description

The Tabwa collection offers timeless centerpieces of minimalistic silhouette with a unique and distinct character. Contemporary wooden furniture are transformed into unique pieces of art where each pattern is carefully carved by our artisans. Named after the Tabwa culture from Central Africa, the collection’s inspiration comes from their fondness for linear geometric motifs.

    Characteristics of Natural Wood

This product is handcrafted from solid natural wood. The color tone of solid wood ages over time. Natural variations in grain are also to be expected. This is not a defect in the wood and is, in fact, part of its natural beauty. Because of this, we cannot accept returns or cancellations due to variations in natural wood tones and grain. About Ethnicraft

For the past 25 years, Ethnicraft has created solid wood furniture and decorative objects that inspire the stories of people’s lives. Their furniture is dependable and full of character, creating a collection of stylish pieces for every space in your home. In 1995, Antwerp entrepreneur Philippe Delaisse took a trip to Indonesia and brought a container of furniture and decorative accessories to sell back home. After long-time friend Benoit Loos joined the venture, the pair began regularly importing containers of coveted goods to eager Antwerp clientele. Today, they design and create their own pieces out of Indonesia, Vietnam, and Serbia, with offices in Antwerp, Hong Kong, North Carolina, and near Marseille.

Outstanding craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability are central to Ethnicraft’s core values. All of their wood is strong, durable, and FSC Certified, sourced from responsibly and carefully managed forests. Products are routinely tested throughout the entire development process to meet the highest industry standards set by ANSI (American National Standards Institute) and BIFMA (North American Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association). Cushion inners are also Oeko-Tex 100 certified and are filled using Downpass certified materials.

Ethnicraft values zero waste production methods and works hard to diminish their carbon footprint. Waste like leftover logs, wood, and sawdust are all re-purposed. The sawdust from logs is either used as fuel for the drying ovens or compressed as a base for pellets. All the leftovers from cutting planks to size are recycled and used as base material or box joints for panels. Consciously-chosen fibers like wool, cotton, and Belgian linen are used, while only the best weaving yarns are sourced from Belgium, France, Italy, Peru, and Pakistan.
